Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Labor Compliance / Payroll Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in ensuring our workforce adheres to all relevant regulations and standards. This position involves managing payroll processes, maintaining compliance with labor laws, and supporting project management efforts related to workforce administration.
Job Location: Preferred hybrid, with in-office at our West Harrison, NY office. Remote arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates based on experience, qualifications, and business needs.
Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using ADP and related systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Administer prevailing wage, certified payroll, apprenticeship, and labor compliance requirements across multiple construction projects.
- Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports and supporting documentation.
- Monitor employee classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and apprenticeship requirements.
- Reconcile payroll data with accounting records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, and perform related account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Create and manage AIA payment applications, lien waivers, and related project documentation.
- Maintain payroll, tax, benefits, employee, and compliance records.
- Process payroll-related transactions, including deductions, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, and garnishments.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting to maintain accurate employee compensation, benefits, and tax information and support employee payroll inquiries.
- Prepare payroll, labor compliance, and workforce reports for management, audits, and project requirements.
- Assist with labor audits, prevailing wage investigations, and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
- Experience in payroll administration, labor compliance, or certified payroll, preferably within the construction industry.
- Experience with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and apprenticeship compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Workday, or similar platforms, and workforce management systems such as ClockShark and Procore.
- Strong understanding of payroll, accounting, and general ledger principles, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and multi-state payroll compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and employee benefits administration.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
